Nan is a Director at Qualcomm Ventures, based in Santa Clara. Her current investment focus is Artificial Intelligence.
Prior to Qualcomm Ventures, Nan’s most recent position was head of U.S. investment at Baidu Capital and Baidu Changcheng Growth fund, both affiliated venture arms of Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU). In this position, she established Baidu’s growth venture fund platform in Silicon Valley, built the artificial intelligence (AI) focused investment scope & deal sourcing network, and was responsible for the $300mm USD fund raising activities. Her selected deals include Kitt.ai (Baidu’s most important acquisition in 2017), Velodyne, Falcon Computing, MoreHealth, Ripcord, Cerebras, Atomwise and Black Sesame.
Prior to Baidu, Nan served as Assistant Vice President of Investment Banking at Barclays and Jefferies, in both NYC and Hong Kong. She led several technology IPO and M&A deals during her investment banking career. She is familiar with both Asia and U.S. capital markets, M&A, and IPO execution process.
Nan holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and B.A. of Economics from University of Maryland at College Park.
Outside the Office
Outside of the office, Nan is an amateur Impressionist Oil Painter with several paintings exhibited in San Francisco’s art center. She also loves skiing and hiking.
